BLAZERS HUMBLED BY ROCKETS

The Thompson Blazers would like to forget Sunday’s 11-2 loss to the Okanagan Rockets as much as they can.  However, when asked directly, Head Coach Mark Chase says that “…this should be a wake up call for our players. We have a lot to learn still. Our defensive zone structure fell apart completely after 6 minutes into the first period. It was chaotic at best.”

Despite the unsuccessful attempt at a win in Kelowna against the tough and highly skilled Okanagan Rockets team, Chase doesn’t attribute the loss to a lack of work ethic.  “We are a team that prides itself on our work ethic.  The effort from our players is usually consistent and can be relied on.  The issue is combining our work ethic with a ‘work smart’ mentality.  That is our challenge.”

The Thompson Blazers will have a whole week to prepare for their next pair of games this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend.  The Blazers will be at home when the South Island Royals (Victoria, BC) visit ISC on Saturday and Sunday.  Game times are 6:30pm and 11:00am respectively.  Come out and support your Thompson Blazers on Thanksgiving weekend!
